Born on 3 December 1970 in Vadnagar, Gujarat, his documented public journey first enters the electoral record in 1997, when he contested the Gujarat Legislative Assembly election from Radhanpur.
A year later, in 1998, he was elected to the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from Radhanpur — beginning a legislative journey that would subsequently include representation from Radhanpur, Vav and Tharad.
Today, he serves as the Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, represents Tharad in the Assembly, and serves as Chairman of Banas Dairy.

03 — ENTRY INTO PUBLIC LIFE
An early
electoral challenge.
At the age of 27, Shankar Chaudhary contested his first Gujarat Legislative Assembly election from Radhanpur. The contest marked the beginning of his documented electoral journey. Although he was not elected in that contest, he returned to Radhanpur in the following Assembly election.
Shankar Chaudhary was elected as a Member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from Radhanpur. This began a sustained period of legislative representation.

1998 — 2012
Shankar Chaudhary represented the Radhanpur Assembly constituency from 1998 until 2012. This period formed the longest continuous chapter of his early legislative career.
Vav
2012 — 2017
In the 2012 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election, he was elected from the Vav Assembly constituency, representing Vav during the 2012–2017 Assembly term.
Tharad
2022 — Present
Shankar Chaudhary returned to the Gujarat Legislative Assembly in 2022 after being elected from Tharad. Tharad remains his current Assembly constituency.
